Paul W. Kinney, CIMA^®

Before launching The Kinney Group as an independent firm, Paul had over 30 years’ success as a financial advisor and wealth advisor at UBS, and Morgan Stanley and its predecessor firms. Bringing together broad wealth management expertise, financial market savvy and practical life experience, Paul prides himself on having a positive influence on a wide array of hard-working and conscientious clients. Over his career, he has developed leading-edge, best practices in portfolio construction, risk management, cash flow analysis and wealth planning, with specific expertise in fixed income and asset allocation.

Paul is a graduate of Occidental College and the University of Colorado Graduate School of Public Affairs. He earned the credentials of a Certified Investment Management Analyst^SM (CIMA^®) and received the prestigious Wealth Advisor designation at UBS in 2007.

Paul has a history of community involvement, with past service as the President of the Glendale Symphony Orchestra Association, CFO of the Glendale Community Foundation, and as a member of an advisory board of Occidental College. He currently supports local educational and community groups, including the Aspen Institute and Slow Food Roaring Fork. His passions include spending time with his family, gardening, Tai Chi, fly fishing, and Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley.

JoAnne J. Nishiyama

JoAnne has worked closely with Paul for more than 12 years as a key original, and dedicated, member of the Kinney Group. She has 13 years of experience in the financial services industry. At Morgan Stanley, she served as a senior registered client service associate and as a financial advisor. Committed to earning clients’ trust every day, JoAnne prides herself on her attention to detail, responsiveness and follow-through. She knows that her clients’ confidence depends on meeting their service needs with complete satisfaction, whatever their request.

A graduate of Occidental College, JoAnne enjoys a robust family life with her husband, son and daughter. She is also active in community educational and athletic organizations in the Pasadena area.
